Workshop: Theater

More time for each other!

“Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome Prof. Dr. Dr. Dr… Another very important speech is to come and all the participants are highly recommended to pay attention to it, since Mr Prof. Dr. Dr. Dr. did so much for the German-Israeli relationships. So please be quiet everyone and listen to what this incredibly important person has to say.”

This is not real! It´s a play. A play performed in the theater workshop during the Youth Congress. The instructors Danielle-Naftali Kind and Andreas Wrosch wanted their participants to perform whatever they wanted to. The only thing that counted: They had to express their own feelings about themselves and about the congress. And yes, they could also express critical words.

There were quite a few Prof. Dr. Dr. Dr. who had so many important things to say during this congress. The truth is though, that a lot of young people came to meet people and take part in activities and less to listen to important speeches. Furthermore, there were many events and between all the panels, trips and workshop there was sometimes just enough time to take something to eat. By consequence, another performance was just about this issue. One Israeli and one German interacted and wanted to get to know each other better. However, they got interrupted by someone of the organizers because they had to go to next program point. The two young people were left puzzled and speechless although they had so many things to say to one another.

Sure, that was the theater workshop. However, the message of the participants was clear: We need more time for each other!
